CENTER OF CRIMINAL SCIENCES

The Center for Criminal Sciences (CCS) of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences is the research organization of the Panteion University that investigates the law's response to crime.

The CCS, founded in 1995 at the initiative of the late Professor of Criminal Law Dionysios Spinellis, is an independent University Research Center. The CCS was connected until 2013 with the Department of Criminal Sciences of the General Department of Law of the Panteion University and from 2014 it is associated with the Criminology Department of the School of Social Sciences.

Director General of the CCS is Emeritus Professor of Criminal Law Agapios Papaneofytou and Scientific Director the Associate Professor of Criminal Law Dimitrios Ziouvas.

The purpose of the Center for Criminal Sciences is to promote research and education and the diffusion of scientific knowledge in the fields of Criminal Sciences and Criminal Policy.

The CCI issues the Series of Studies 'Criminal Law, Criminal Policy and Human Rights' under the direction of the Scientific Director, Associate Professor Dimitrios Ziouvas.


Hellenic Center for Criminology

In the Department of Criminology of the Department of Sociology, the Greek Center for Criminology (GCC) operates under the Senate decision of 7-3-1990 and according to its current regulation, as it is automatically adapted to the General Regulation on the Centers in force at a later decision of the Senate (Meeting of 28-11-05) and is now the Special Regulation of the Center, as below.
Founder and CEO of the Hellenic Center for Criminology is the Emeritus Professor Mr. Iakovos Farsedakis.

Research Center of Biopolitics

The general objective of the Center: The proposal for the establishment of “Biopolitics” Research Center (RECEBI) aims to create a multidisciplinary International Research Center of the Department of Sociology, which will consist of academics, independent researchers, postgraduate/doctoral researchers and post-doctoral scientists.
