Brief CV

Nikolaos Tsiros studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, Faculty of Law and completed his D.Phil. at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, Faculties of Political Science, Sociology and Philosophy. His doctoral thesis was titled: «Die Politische Theorie der Postmoderne» (1992). He was awarded a state scholarship for his doctoral studies by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) of Greece (1988-1992) and for his post doctoral research in the field of social studies (1998-1999). His two monographs on Eleftherios Venizelos and his era have been honored with merit and prize by the Greek Parliament. He is a Senior Advisor to the Legal Council of the Hellenic State, since 1994. Since 2004, he teaches at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, where he is currently a Professor in the academic field of political sociology.
