Introduction to Social and Political Philosophy – Theory and Philosophy of Education    
    The course aims at introducing students of Sociology to the fundamental problems of social and political philosophy, through the examination of social and political philosophy, as well as philosophy of education, and of ancient Greek thinkers. The main axis of reference is formed by the Sophists, Plato and Aristotle.
Contemporary Social and Political Philosophy I    
    The goal of the course is the systematic discussion of fundamental problems of contemporary social and political philosophy. The focus will be on the thought of Nietzsche, Foucault, Negri, Kierkegaard, on the topic of the absurd, as well as on the perception of Nietzsche in Greece and Germany.
Contemporary Social and Political Philosophy II    
    The goal of this course is to continue the systematic discussion of fundamental problems of contemporary social and political philosophy. The focus will be on the thought of: Th. Adorno, K. Axelos, W. Benjamin, M. Bookchin, J. Baudrillard, G. Debord, G.Deleuze, J. Derrida, E. Fromm, A. Gorz, F. Guattari, M. Horkheimer, H. Lefebvre, L. Lowenthal, G. Lukacs, J-F. Lyotard, H. Marcuse and the New Left.
Issues of Ecological Philosophy
   
    This  seminar addresses some of the most important points of view that were articulated and are related to ecological philosophy in response to its three issues: subjectivity, society, environment, as well as its correlations with other topics.
