Sociology of political systems, I . Forms of modern political systems and the greec political system Code 300129   Semester 7 This course introduce students to the sociology of political systems. Moreover, it examines forms of modern political systems and especially the greec political system. The sociological interest in political systems is figuring out who holds the power in the relationship of the government and its people and how the government"s power is used. Authoritarianism, monarchies and democracy are the three types of political systems that sociologist consider.

This course focuses on the study of power and domination in social relationships. Moreover, it involves but is not limited to the study of the relations between state, society and citizens. The sociological interest in political power is designed in order to explore the underlying forces that either promote or retard political and social change.
 

Sociology of political systems, II. Forms of modern party systems and the greec party system

The course analyzes the  power structures of organizations such as political parties and trade unions. Political parties perform an important task in government. They bring people together to achieve control of the government, develop policies favorable to their interests and organize and persuade voters to elect their candidates to office. Moreover, the course examines how a radical political party loses its goals under the dynamic of electoral participation
